Sargasso features nouvelle world fusion cuisine which samples from Asian, European, American,
Caribbean styles. The culinary team is comprised of an international representation of talents lead by
Executive Chef, Simon, from Montreal. Together this cohesive team brings many years of diverse culinary
experience which is revealed in the creative menus and nightly specials that Sargasso offers. The open
kitchen immerses diners in the total culinary experience, inviting them into the creation of their meal.
The Wine Spectator award-winning wine list compliments the culinary creations perfectly and provides
a wide range of choices for the aficionados to the casual wine drinker. With over 1,000 bottles in Sargasso’s
collection, comprised of 130 different varieties from 15 countries, diners are certain to find a wine of
interest.
Sargasso began as the inspiration of local businessman, Phil Weser and his wife, Dana, who gained an
appreciation for international cuisines through their travels and their interest in cooking.
They partnered with successful local physician, Frank Alderman, who shared their passion for establishing
a unique fine dining experience in Morgantown, WV that would provide a refined but casual atmosphere with
exceptional quality and service.
